Hi, I’m Summer—

I’m an oil painter based in Atlanta. My work is inspired by the small moments that help us understand ourselves a little more, like what drives us, shapes us, comforts us, or scares us.

Through my own experiences and self-discovery, I explore parts of myself sitting in the background of my life: a wish I made that came true; a past version of myself I’ve fully outgrown; the excitement I get en route to see someone I love; the strength I only noticed long after the moment passed; my appreciation for community after a lonely season; the parts of my youth I didn’t realize were rare.

With slow, layered oil painting, I give these moments their flowers for making up who I am. I’m giving every version of myself grace, and I hope my work encourages others to do the same.
